The final stage marks the return home. The incline of Viale Venezia in Brescia ends the race where it all began.
From Parma, the procession crosses Franciacorta, passing villages on the banks of the river Oglio: Soncino and Orzinuovi, once protected by walls; Pontoglio and the thousand-year-old Palazzolo. Finally, a return to Brescia, a city included by UNESCO in the list of World Heritage Sites for its history and art. Also known as La Leonessa {‘the lioness’), the city has been welcoming racers to the finish line for almost a century. From one mile to the next, the curtain falls on a race that has explored Italy and has excited us all the way along the route with this country's history, landscapes and the people who have travelled with us.
