FCA Heritage lends one of the most popular pieces in its collection to the V&A Museum: the 600 Multipla stars in the retrospective "Cars: Accelerating the Modern World".

The exhibition "Cars: Accelerating the Modern World" opens at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London on 23 November. The retrospective - which runs until 19 April 2020 - is dedicated to the cars which acted as real social and economic accelerators throughout the XX Century, and will feature amazing pieces, including the very earliest model of car still in existence and even a flying car prototype.

The retrospective aims to celebrate all cars whose design, innovation and social impact changed the world. They include one of the cars most emblematic of Italian motoring.

The Fiat 600 Multipla, the forerunner of all hatchbacks, is an icon of Italian style. Launched at the 1956 Brussels Motor Show, the car had an absolutely original line and was exceptionally roomy: since the seats were arranged in three rows, it was able to accommodate six people in comfort or - with four seats folded down - to provide a large cargo area, which could all be effectively used.  Due to its distinctive versatility and unrivalled comfort, the "Multipla" was the firm favourite with Italian taxi drivers and families for over a decade.

The car exhibited in London belongs to the FCA Heritage Collection and is normally on show at the Centro Storico Fiat in Turin.
